Gayton Class 2, Mrs Fulford
Welcome back to everyone after the summer holiday! We hope you have a had a wonderful summer break and are ready for an exciting term ahead in Class 2.
Our topic this term is called ‘Adventurers and Explorers'. We are looking forward to travelling back in time to learn about the history of the Vikings. We will be learning all about what life was like at the time of the vicious Vikings.
In English we will be reading adventure stories and writing our own versions using lots of description. I can't wait o see what adventures we will go on!
We will become explorers in Science, investigating and identifying different types of rocks. Please look out for any rocks you see when you are out and about and bring them in for us to explore!
In RE we will be exploring our school value of generosity during our daily worship assemblies and we look forward to learning all about Islam with a Federation craft day planned.
In PE we will be developing our skills in tag-rugby with Pacesetters on a Friday and we will be practising all of our agility, balance and coordination skills during the week using our apparatus in the school hall. Please ensure the children's PE kit is in school all week. Year 3 children will also have weekly swimming lessons each Wednesday.
Keep an eye on the diary dates for this term as we have many exciting events coming up including our Macmillan coffee morning, our Harvest festival and a Federation trip to the Think Tank museum in Birmingham.
As always, if you have any questions or queries about your child’s learning, please pop in and see me.
Please remember to keep checking our class blog to see what exciting things we have been up to!
